This piece is a Venitian-style art cushion boasting an authentic oil portrait as a centrepiece.
A lovely art cushion, the body of which is made of an elegant, robbin's egg blue fabric with handwritten overlay. The text is excerpted from "Dangerous Liaisons", by the French, 18th c. novelist Choderlos de Laclos. It refers to the museum exhibition in which this piece will be showcased in early 2023.
The body of the cushion is decorated with a signature oil portrait framed in gold braid and pale blue velvet. The portrait adorning this art cushion was inspired by a work by German painter Franz Xaver Winterhalter (1805-1873).
This intricate work of art is definitely destined to become an heirloom!
