This beautiful piece is a one-of-a-kind work of art made up of an authentic, antique tapestry from either Belgium or France, depicting a young man playing the luth in a garden setting while two women look on. Overall, it betrays a certain theatrical quality owing to the trompe-l'oeil, recessed aspect of the piece.
The tapestry has been mounted onto a birch panel covered in moss-green, satiny fabric which partially falls over the topmost part of the tapestry in an elegant drape. Two bows set off the top part of the piece, while the bottom section is set off by wine-coloured bows and elegant green tassels.
A truly unique, theatrical piece which would be a great fit for any vintage-style, Elegant Country or French Country interior!
